Robin Daning is a full-time artist who has lived and worked in New Orleans since 2007. Her art has been in the Dutch Alley Artist Co-op since 2021 and in the BEE Gallery (Bay St. Louis) since 2011. Her pieces have been featured at numerous exhibits and shows in New Orleans and the surrounding area.
Robin works in several media including pen and ink, painting, and sculpture. She has been commissioned to paint more than dozen utility boxes throughout New Orleans area featuring images of Fats Domino, Irma Thomas, the LSU tiger, and the Tulane Green Wave.
She is perhaps best known for her original paintings on dominoes. She treats each dominoe like a tiny canvas and paints a detailed image using a technical pen and fine brush with pigmented ink. She then seals, mounts, and frames the painted dominoe(s). Pieces range from a single dominoe to ones with a 1000 and more dominoes.
